As a person who thought they were doing the right thing I am sadden by the fact that the whole situation even came about. It is a shame when the very system that a tax payer pays into can hold such power over the people that it is set up to serve. Why on earth would a school system not want to get better? Where is the fairness in saying that we must bow down to the public school system as parents or any other community person.
The system is wrong and needs serious change or we will continue to be slaves to the very services that we pay into.
The very notion that a person can be treated by the school system the way that I was is upsetting sure but more so a real awaking to me as a parent and citizen.
I have not been fully explained as to what if any right the school system has to not let me participate in the training and conditioning of my child and others. Now this may sound like no big deal to others or some may say well what right do you have for rocking the boat on the system, my child as well as the many other kids that go thru the public school system drive me and my right to help them out. IF one can give ones time and knowledge then the school system should be blessed to have someone that is willing to do just that.

Why should I be content with someone putting down  our school and saying well that is the poor school so you understand why they do not get the best things makes me mad. Why should any school in the school district be any less fortunate then any other school. This includes all training and sports or any other activity needs. Education needs by far all school should have all the same opportunities as well as provide every student the same learning ability. You can look at every school and if all schools are not the same in every aspect then how can the school say every child has the same opportunity as the next? Some schools have better opportunities then others for their students and that is not right as every school should have all the same opportunities as the next or we should be able to move our child to that school with no penalties.

I do not see a system that is working as much as I see a system that is hanging on.
I have to say I feel bad that I am at the point I am with the school system as I was hoping that I would see the system in a different format of organization as one that was fair and did the right thing and the parent was the driving force behind the system working, instead it has turned out that I do not believe in the system as being fair as my situation was by far anything but fair and it has really left a bad taste in my mouth for what I use to believe in and was taught by.

I wish I could see a difference made but I do not at this point as if what happen to me can take place then I do not see how any new change can come to a system that did what it did to a parent that was doing a good thing for the community.

I am not saying everyone will agree with me and some may say hey I should have left the situation alone, but how can I be a server of the community if I would have not spoken up for what I believe in.
I will be taking down last years website and will be putting a new High School Football site together for this season.
I believe we will have a great year this season and look forward to a great time in the stands with everyone.

We believe with all of our hearts that you and your wife have always gone above and beyond the call of duty being a parent! We are so heartbroken to know that the very system that begs parents to get involved in their children’s life’s would go so far to stop some of the greatest parents at BCHS! We will never want to donate any money to BCHS because  I feel it doesn’t go where it is supposed to. Just look at the difference between the two fields…… you get my point? Well, something really needs to be done for our kid’s sake and their future. The whole situation that Coach Creed and his wife are going through is terrible! Yes, I said Coach Creed! He will always be our Coach Creed and we will call him that forever, no matter who is around!!!!!!!!!  We as parents of Blake stand behind you and your family 100%. We will go as far as you want to go to try to change the way things are done at BCHS. Just let us know! We think all of the parents should go see the superintendent together at one time. Together we can have change!!!!!!!!!! Our son will continue to play football. But by no means will we support BCHS again! We will support our son, the football team and the coaches. And yes that means Coach Creed too!  If we want to donate, we will buy it personally for the team. We don’t want any of our money to go through the wrong hands. I would rather give our money to Coach Creed to give to football  instead of some few people I feel have no heart at the school! It just makes us feel awful. I have already wrote letters to the school and superintendent but no response yet!  I guess that is my answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes I wonder what kind of people are really over our children.  I can say so much more about this situation, but maybe I need to bite my tongue for the time being. But don’t worry, we have plenty to add! We think this story should go national!! If I offended anyone, maybe it is your conscience trying to tell you something!  To be continued……………

Coach Creed,

Randy and I want you to know you and your family are in our prayers.
We have always thought very highly of you (and Norma) for what you have done
for the football team on and off the field. We think you are a great person
and you have been a positive role model for our guys. Hang in there. Know
that you have many parents that support you. Even though my kids are no
longer students, we are still here for you as parents. We went through a
similar situation when Jeremy entered his junior year with the baseball
situation. Jeremy loved the game but was not willing to go through the
hazing that was required to become part of the team. If there is anything we
can do to help your situation, please let us know. We are here to support
you 110%.

Take care,

Pam & Randy Bradley

I guess I am biased as to being a BC Football fan but I can tell you this I feel something special when the players hit the field.
It releases a energy of excitement to know that I am part of a group of men and fans who love the game of football.
Players keep moving forward as you are getting better every day.
Go Jackets!!!!

I am very proud that every football player I spoke with said he had passing grades.  Athletics is here to teach you leadership skills and support academics.  You guys are great.  Keep your grades up and HOLD ON TO THE BALL.   Go Jackets.  Beat Lincolnton.

Saying, "I am proud of you all," is an understatement.  I have never felt so great in my life to say "My husband is the football coach at Bessemer City High School."  Guys, no matter what your record is, you have made so many accomplishments within yourself and as a team, nobody can beat that.

This year I have seen such a change in your attitudes on and off the field, I wonder what happened to the guys I knew last year...know that you make me, the coaches, your school, fans, and your town proud to be JACKETS.  It is amazing to leave a ball game and hear proud fans say, "Those guys are a winning team!" "This team is going in the right direction." People are saying good things about you.

Keep working hard and NEVER GIVE UP!  Keep striving to be the best; I won't stop believing in you, so don't stop believing in yourself.

Mrs. Boone

Ya Mrs Boone way to go and thanks for your support.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would just like to say that I am also very proud of these boys, especially the seniors There’s a lot of talent on this team.

I have been involved with Yellow Jacket Football for 37 years as a fan, mother, coach’s wife, and coach’s mother. I have had to sit in the stands and listen to the coaches being ridiculed. I know how tough your skin has to be just to be able to sit and be a spectator. I know first hand what kind of commitment it takes to be a player and a coach. The long hours, the tireless complaints but I also know that a good coach takes the time to listen.

I, for one would like “ALL” parents that support the Yellow Jackets to know that I really appreciate you being there on Friday nights whether your son gets to play or not.

This is my last year because my son is graduating, but I will continue to be a loyal Yellow Jacket fan.
I will continue to support you boys, I will cheer with you, I will cry with you, I will hurt with you, but most of all I will love you. You're a great bunch of guys and I'm proud of you.

Kathy Nichols

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you Kathy for all the love and support you have given our boys.
I can assure you the boys next year will not be losers by no means as the boys are working hard and improving every day.
The commitment of the players is really starting to show and all fans will continue to see the great improvement that has continued to grow over this year and will be stronger then ever next year.
The football program has grown this year over last with more fans involved and parents helping out as well as the Booster Club membership continues to go up.
The team and program have been improving greatly over last year and I for one am very proud to have been part of that improvement.
All the coaching staff has worked to improve the team and we are seeing results.
Over the off season many of the players have said they will be in the weight room so we can get bigger faster and stronger for next year and that is a key aspect to the team getting better.
They are getting interest from kids in the hall saying they will be joining our team next year and are working hard to get their grades right so they can join the team.
The boys that play on this year as years to come that have seen wins and will see loses go thru the many changes in the level of play from pee wees and up to high school football as well as having to change from one style of play to another and another.
What has changed is the level of play of the game as well as some other key players still not with the core group that has seen such great accomplishments in the past.
The team must understand and know that till they become one unit pulling in the same direction then they will continue to struggle.
The players know and are learning that it is important for them to do what they have been taught and to hit the weight room to get stronger.
I agree that if something is not broke do not fix it but we must also understand that our team is not broke it is just growing and developing and takes time and the 100% commitment of the players to
Do what they must do to on and off the field to be a winning team.
I also agree change is important and I am proud to see that change is coming as we all see our team is doing much better this year over last and that is a great change to begin with.

Thanks for being a fan and thanks for speaking out.
Lindel Creed

Thanks to Coach Boone, Mrs. Boone and Payton and last but not least Our Great Fans.

I would like to thank all the fans for your support this year and just hope we can keep your support for the rest of the year.  But besides that I would like to thank coach Boone and Mrs. Boone,  for all your help this year. It means so much to all of us players.  Coach Boone most of us could not see playing under ANY OTHER coach you have brought us together and made us a family and shown us how to become men.  I hope that we can step it up for you and this town and make it to the playoffs we are not losers to anyone who thinks that,  you don’t know this game very well Coach Boone has improved this program beyond words can explain he has change some of these young men’s life’s he goes out of his way to sit down and hear us out and listen to our ideas. But don’t get me wrong we all make a few mistakes it’s how we learn from them that makes us who we are, and he has shown us how to learn from our mistakes and turn these things in to a POSITIVE.

Mrs. Boone we cannot thank you and Payton enough for all the LOVE and SUPPORT you have shown to us. You have also went out of your way to make sure we walk the straight line,  and you give us a helping hand when ever it is needed.

I know all that counts in the eyes of the fans.  Is wins and losses,  but what Coach Boone and Mrs. Boone have done for us will help us not only on the field.  But in life, this is what its really about so before you judge, OUR coaches, we should really take a deep look into how they are really helping this football team. This community and most of all how they are helping these players lives so Thank you so much Coach Boone,  Mrs. Boone and Payton

It’s not the coaches fault that we are not winning the only ones you should blame is us the players.  We are the ones running the plays we are the ones who want to go to practice and goof off instead of taking that time to work, we are the ones who stay in trouble in school and have to sit out of games because we would rather be a class clown.  There is so much more that goes into this than what you know so please if you want to blame someone blame us. NOT our coaches they have enough to worry about.  We are the ones missing tackles fumbling the ball NOT having the HEART to step up and finish a game.

Now let me say:   LETS GO  Jackets playoffs is only ONE win away.

Kyle Creed 56

Playoffs are so close  WE NEED ALL the fan support we can get.  Thanks again to ALL our Great Fans.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Any player who feels they are not part of this winning team because of the score, hasn't learned what winning is all about.  Before a person can be a winner, they have to stop blaming everyone else and start looking at themselves. Being a winner is about each player finding their own faults and improving themselves. Any player who feels they are the best never leaves room for improvement and therefore will never achieve any greater reward,  There are players who are finding the winner in themselves each and every day.  I am really disappointed to think any player on this team feels they are not on a winning team...remember, each player makes up this team. You guys have already won more games than last year...is this not a success for the TEAM?  Being a coach does mean having tough skin and taking the good with the bad no matter what team they may have; thanks coaches for not quitting and not giving up on your team.

Love you guys!

Mrs. Boone

Bessemer City Yellow Jackets are #1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

COACHES- Great Job! We know the hours are endless and sometimes aggravating. All of you have been there for our boys trying to teach them football but the main thing is, you all have taught them how to be a true team. Loving each other as a football family is what we can see from the stands and it is truly beautiful! That in itself is better than a win. They will carry that in their hearts forever. I also commend you all on bringing a preacher along for the ride. In the beginning of the season I really had high hopes of great things to come. We came to every game excited and then ended up leaving with questions about so many things. This was our first year at being football parents.

PARENTS and FANS in the STANDS-  yell as hard as you can, cheer our boys on ,stomp your feet, well anything, just make some noise and keep making it! Silence is telling them we don’t believe in them or we are giving up on them. We have to stand behind our boys 100% all of the time not just when they are winning!

WIVES AND FAMILY OF COACHES- last but not least…. Everyone seems to forget about the better halves and the kids that have to put up with fans bad mouthing the coaches. We seem to forget all of the time that they have to be away from their families. So I just want to thank you for the support! Thank you for going through what you have to. We really appreciate every thing you do!

YELLOW JACKETS- You all are awesome! We love every one of you! We are so proud of you! What can I say? Just plain out AWESOME!!!!!! Always remember don’t give up no matter what! We are proud of you win or loss! We have seen you grow as a team this year. Yall have grown so close. Remember this saying…….DONT LET ANYONE OUT PLAY YOU TODAY every time you step on the field! Hold your head up high and be proud of yourselves! Keep your grades up and stay focused on your future. Don’t let anyone ever put or bring you down. You have a family at home and you also have a football family that loves each and every one of you whether you know it or not. We cry with you, we laugh with you, we hurt with you, and we are there with you all the way! During the off season, don’t quit working out. Be dedicated and next season come back stronger, faster and better than ever before! Show them what you got!!!!!!

As first time football parents  we have enjoyed this year and it has taught us many valuable lessons as well as our son and the rest of the players. We are looking forward to 2 more years here. Even after he graduates, we will forever be true Yellow Jackets Fans!

TO OUR SON- We are so proud of you. This was your first year playing for a true team! We have watched you grow into a strong and powerful young man. Sometimes you leave us speechless. Your dedication in football is outstanding! With the great grades and wonderful attitude you can be anything you want to be! Keep up the good work, don’t cut corners and give it your best. Take lessons from life and don’t fear anyone or anything! Stand up for what is right and don’t let anyone defeat you. Protect and serve others like I know you will with that big heart you have. Last but not least you will always be our REDNECK!

We love you, Mom and Dad

First of all i want the whole team to know that yall deserve this more than any team i know. Watching yall practice and watching what yall do on the field amazes me. It takes a really dedicated person to do what yall do.  And i just want to say congradulations on making it to playoffs. This is where all that hard work comes into play BIG time !!

Coaches: yall are doing a great job with these guys you also have to be very dedicated cause for one i know it is very very hard to put up with some of them =] but you are doing a great job at it. Congradulations to yall also. The team wouldnt have made it there with out yall.

Robbie Gehring #32 : You have done such a great job this year, i am so proud of you. I enjoy being able to come and cheer you on or even sit in the stands and cheer you on during the game. Keep your head up, yall WILL go far !! Congradulations on making playoffs.

Lendel & Norma: Thanks for all the support for the football team!! And not only for the football team but for  the cheerleading squad !! I just want all of you to know that Randy (your #1 camera man) and I have
really enjoyed being a part of the Yellow Jacket Family! Even after Jeremy
graduated and Megan decided to finish her last year at Ashbrook, Randy and I
knew we still wanted to be a part of the Yellow Jacket Family. We are proud
of what you guys accomplished this year and we look forward to being a part
of the team again next year that is if Coach Boone will have us back.

Go Jacket!
